Hope & Despair: Visual identity

Client: Designskolen i Kolding

We created the visual identity and core narrative for Hope & Despair, a project connecting seven different Danish and German museums and memorial sites focusing on World War II.

The graphic identity and assets were created using generative visual AI - by training Midjourney using sketches by artists Felix Nussbaum, Leonard Baskin, and Thomas Fritta to develop a visual style grounded in wartime history, emotional intensity, and historical context.

Our services included:

  • Prompting and training of Midjourney to generate the initial visual idea

  • Art direction

  • Graphic design, including refining and finalizing assets

  • Copywriting of the core narrative in Danish, German, and English.

Designskolen Kolding was lead partner in the project spanning 14 different organizations, museums, and educational institutions.
